The Lost Brother In a small village, two sisters, Sewit and Luwam, loved playing with their little brother, Kudus. But Kudus was always curious and often wandered off. Suddenly, Luwam pointed. "Look! Over there!" Under a big tree, Kudus sat holding a shiny rock that glowed faintly. ________________________________________ Sewit: (relieved) "Kudus! Why did you run off?" Kudus: (innocently) "I saw this glowing rock and wanted to follow it." Luwam: "You scared us! Don’t run away like that again." Kudus: (looking down) "I didn’t think you’d miss me." Sewit: (hugging him) "Of course we’d miss you. We love you, Kudus. We’re stronger when we stick together." ________________________________________ The three of them held hands and walked home, the lantern lighting their way. Kudus never wandered off alone again, knowing his sisters would always look out for him.

They live in "Tipis" the Sioux word for dwelling. The Lakota Sioux live in North America clustered in what is now Wisconsin, Minnesota and North and South Dakota or the Great Plains. Lakota Sioux were known for their beadwork and porcupine quillwork. Lakota Sioux would use canoes to travel and dogs/sleds to pull things. When horses were introduced to them it changed their culture. Long hair is important to the Lakota Sioux and should not be cut unless you are mourning the loss of a loved one. Lakota children played with rawhide dolls and throwing the willow spear. It is important to pass on the Lakota traditions and remember their 7 values of respect, compassion, honesty, generosity, wisdom, humility, and prayer.

Suddenly they were taken back in time to when dinosaurs roamed the earth. The dinosaurs were friendly. Ezra rode with Mummy on the back of a Brachiosaurus, Leo rode with Daddy on the back of a Triceratoos, and Moo and Pops each rode on Stegosaurus. The played all kinds of games with the dinosaurs. They helped one dinosaur to hatch from an egg. They also helped to feed a baby dinosaur. As it got dark it was time to go home. The all held hands and rubbished the black volcanic rocks again and were transported back in time to day.
