Harry was always the first hog awake in the mornings, eager to watch Farmer Jenkins pull up in that big red truck. The other hogs were already thinking about breakfast, but Harry was focused on studying every move Farmer Jenkins made as he parked and unloaded their food. One morning, Harry woke up before dawn. The sky was still dark, and the air was thick with clouds. He thought he might’ve woken up too early, but it wasn’t the time—it was just a stormy morning. Heavy rain started to pour down as a loud crash of thunder shook the farm. Layths father noticed Layth was sad so he asked, whats wrong. Layth told his father about his dream and said "I would love to learn how to skateboard." His father explained that he doesnt know how to skateboard but luckily Layths Uncle Tio Von is very good at skateboarding. So Layths father called Tio Von to the house to show Layth how to skateboard and do tricks. Layth was a natural and learned very fast. The next day Layth entered the Canada Skateboard Extreme Tricks Competition and won 1st Place

He looked up information, did his assignments, and learned new things. But one day, his classmates showed him some fun online games. Cholo tried them and found them very exciting. Soon, he started playing these games more and more. As Denver played more games, he started to change. He stayed up late playing on his phone and became very tired. He didn’t want to do his homework anymore and his grades began to drop. He also stopped eating meals on time and was often rude and grumpy.

Our Kindergarten class is learning how to deal with big emotions. When they are feeling overwhelmed by big emotions they should tell an adult they need a break, how we can help them or what is making them feel that way. We want to help them understand their feeling so that they will be able to learn to self-regulate. We encourage deep breathing, breaks, walks, alone time and telling adults how they feel.
