God describes David as “a man after My own heart” (1 Samuel 13:14, Acts 13:22). That does not mean that he was blameless. We only need to read 2 Samuel 11 to see that David has fallen very low: he took the wife of one of his generals, Bathsheba, because she was very beautiful. When Bathsheba turned out to be pregnant, David called her husband Uriah home from the battle field hoping he would sleep with her. That would “solve” the problem of Bathsheba’s pregnancy. But Uriah didn’t go home, not even when made drunk, so David sent him back to the battle field with a letter ordering his death. After Uriah’s death, David married Bathsheba. The description of this whole story ends with a clear comment: “the thing that David had done displeased the Lord” (2 Samuel 11:27). God didn’t let David get away with this. He confronted him with his sin, and David repented. Psalm 51 gives us an intimate glimpse of his emotions:

Clink! Munch! Munch! (Use a wood block or metal spoon on a small bowl.) After finishing breakfast, Riley grabbed their backpack and ran out the door. The birds chirped in the trees—Tweet! Tweet!—and a gentle breeze blew past—Whooosh! (Use a small whistle for birds and a shaker for the wind.) At the bus stop, the school bus arrived with a loud "Vroom! Honk!" Riley hopped on and found a seat as the bus rumbled down the road. (Use a drum roll for the bus engine and a horn for the honk.) Finally, Riley reached school and walked into the classroom, ready to learn. The school bell rang—"Ding-dong!"—and everyone settled in for a wonderful day ahead. One of the kids turn into a mermaid and the other turns into a pirate and they start to play in the bathtub when they notice the bubbles start rumbling. One of the children points to the pink bath pouf as it begins to turn into a pink octopus, the frills turn into the octopus tentacles, wrapping around the children. The bath stickers start to come to life, a crocodile, fish and mermaids start to come to life in the bathtub. The children enjoy a magical under the sea experience in the bathtub.

Jack says, “This place honors the ancestors of the Tang family. It really feels historical!” **Page 7** The kids listen to villagers tell stories about Lung Yeuk Tau, especially the legends about pirates. They imagine how brave the villagers were to protect their homes, feeling really impressed. **Page 8** As the trip ends, Jack, Lily, and Emma go home with lots of memories.
